The mission of Christ the King School Family and School Association (FSA) is to promote and support the mission of Christ the King Catholic School (CTKS).
All parents and guardians of CTKS students are automatically members of the FSA. Members are encouraged to attend our general meetings, held on the first Friday of the month during the school year and once over the summer. Members can also bring concerns and ideas to the leadership as they arise. Please do not hesitate to reach out as a member or prospective member via fsa@ctkschooljax.com.
Servicing the membership is an Executive Council (EC) of 6 voting members. The EC manages the day-to-day operations of the FSA and formulates goals, objectives, and policies for the membership. The board is chosen through a nomination and voting process overseen by the FSA President and voted on by the membership. The FSA President and Head Class Parent also sit on the School Advisory Council, the administrative council at CTKS, to advocate for our membership's perspectives and concerns. Learn more about the EC in our Officers and Structure section.
The FSA wears many hats. Primarily, the function of the FSA is to promote family involvement in the Christ the King School and the wider community. We provide fun events where our school can get together in a relaxed and congenial atmosphere such as Trunk or Treat, Movie Nights, and Pep Rallies. FSA's fundraising pays for scholarships, school improvements, extracurriculars, and funds many programs such as the science fair, the speech and debate showcase, Teacher Appreciation Week, Catholic Schools Week, and much much more. This year, between grants, sponsorships, and fundraising, we raised over $320,000 for our school and were able to fund a full replacement of our aging playground. FSA also manages and arranges service opportunities for our 400 volunteers who collectively contribute over 8,000 service hours per year. Finally, FSA serves as a conduit to the larger CTK community through wide-reaching support and collaboration with adjacent organizations such as the Christ the King Athletic Academy, Arlington Basketball, Scouts, St. Vincent DePaul Society, and, of course, the Christ the King Catholic Church and its many ministries.
